Lyris Enables Trusted Email for Marketing Teams of Any Size

DKIM Authentication Now Supported by Lyris HQ Online Marketing Suite

EMERYVILLE, CA—October 21, 2008—Lyris, Inc.®, the online marketing expert, today announced the availability of DomainKeys Identified Mail (DKIM) technology within the Lyris HQ online marketing suite. By making DKIM authentication more widely accessible to organizations of any size, Lyris is helping marketers build and sustain their online reputations with Internet Service Providers (ISPs) and providing critical visibility into email campaigns at a more granular level.

"Email authentication, specifically DKIM, is gaining favor within global business and ISP communities, but technology hurdles have created roadblocks for many marketers. This has put marketing teams at an email deliverability and performance disadvantage," said Blaine Mathieu, CMO, Lyris, Inc. "With Lyris HQ, customers and ISPs can now benefit from authentication advancements without the need to engage in costly IT support."

In return for signing messages with DKIM, ISPs offer senders improved visibility into their MailStreams, including Feedback Loop participation. Lyris’ DKIM technology accelerates the deployment speed of DKIM and enables ISPs to exempt authenticated messages from certain sets of spoof detecting filters. This not only improves the performance of email campaigns, but also alleviates hurdles for ISPs by providing added accountability to emails and a way to track back messages to sender domains.

According to recent statistics from the Authentication & Online Trust Alliance (AOTA), more than 50 percent of all legitimate email messages sent worldwide are now authenticated with technologies including DKIM and Sender ID. ISPs are looking for this trend to continue, and value DKIM in determining whether messages are valid, spam or forged messages that need to be discarded.

"Email authentication is crucial for businesses of all sizes to maintain online trust," said Craig Spiezle, chairman and founder of AOTA. "With authentication solutions like DKIM, marketers can help ensure email integrity and performance with their recipients."

Lyris HQ analyzes the customer’s domain information in real time and creates authentication protocol entries for them based on configurable options. This is all accomplished through an intuitive interface within the Lyris HQ suite. The functionality is available today.
